      Prompted by questions regarding the difference between flat and conical burrs and which is better, Option-O's Grinding Dynamics Study (GDS) is less about finding an absolute answer and more about understanding the differences—because grinding coffee is not fixed but rather a more fluid interaction between burr geometry, burr gap, speed, and the coffee itself.

      Built on this idea, the Lagom GDS brings together the best of two burr geometries in one system, so the differences can be experienced directly. There is no right or wrong: each expression is unique, and each has its place. GDS is simply a way to explore that, following your curiosity and continuing to learn how different grinding dynamics shape the cup.

      A departure from their usual design language, the Lagom GDS is unapologetically industrial, with visible and functional analog controls—fully embracing its identity as a lab-grade instrument.

      Thoughtfully engineered to provide the utmost precision, stability, repeatability, and flexibility, the Lagom GDS is designed for uncompromising efficiency and to serve as a platform for those who want to explore deeper.

      Available in Silver or Black, and in your choice of Conical + Flat (Mizen HC100TX + Mizen 102OM) or Flat + Flat (Mizen 102OM + SSP 102mm HU) burr configuration.
