    First espresso machine

"I took the dive on this as a first timer and there are some plusses and minuses: The good: - easy to set up - easy to clean - well built - good documentation and videos online The medium: - fit is not great on a few components. The basket does not lock as tight as I'd like; the tamper is a bit undersized and thus hard to get flat; the main body does not lock as tight as I would like and there's some movement There doesn't seem to be much difference for me between the pressure and non pressure baskets in terms of ease of use or quality. The baskets do fall out if trying to bang out a puck though, which is a bit annoying, you just have to keep an eye on it. Right now, any problems I'm mostly chalking up to my inexperience but there are a couple gripes noted above that I am fighting, but getting better at."

"I love it! It makes the best espresso I have tasted. Even my bad shots on this taste better than my best shots on my semi-automatic. I don’t see myself using any other espresso/coffee machine for the forseeable future. Cafuné was a pleasure to deal with. Great customer service!"

    Excellent Product and Coffee Experience

"I wanted to wait until I had at least 30 shots pulled before writing a review but immediately after buying the 49 I knew this was the espresso machine for me and I would recommend to anyone new or already has an espresso machine but would like a more hands on experience. It is very easy to use and is just as fun experimenting with how you pull a shot. I think this is why all my shots tastes better than I expect them too. The lever has become second nature that I find myself not looking at the pressure gauge after I hit around 9 bars. I would recommend buying an extra puck screen as mine has started to show some wear along with an extra package of 0-rings (when available). I am very happy with my 49 and would like to thank the Cafune team for making this purchase a very positive experience. Their speedy delivery and professionally packaged box that came with a free bag of Mikko coffee beans was fantastic. Thank you Cafune!"

Initial mechanical issues, great espresso after

"Right out of the box, ran into a very major issue where the portafilter blew off the assembly at pressures as low as 2 bar, smashing into my cup and splattering boiling water everywhere. After holding the portafilter steady while pulling shots for a week it locked properly on its own, but I've seen some others complaining about this online now. The parts seem not to come perfectly fitted fairly frequently, and while a bit of use fixed the main issue, the brew chamber and some other parts are still a bit wigglier than I'd like. Happy with the machine, but maybe expect some hiccups."
